Mix together, ground veal, ground pork, panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, milk, parmigiano cheese, eggs, garlic, parsley, oregano, red pepper flakes, tomatoes, lemon zest, parsley and salt & pepper. Roll into small balls. Bake in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes.
I made a simple tomato sauce, tossed in the meatballs and served on homemade pasta. These were so good. Everyone needs to try these - maybe I'll make them for Christmas presents.

That is quite a recipe, no wonder they were the best meatballs ever.
The homemade pasta looks incredible.
We should wrap small meatballs in the homemade pasta (or fold and stack the pasta on top of the ball) and serve it as an appetizer with a toothpick. Maybe a layer of shaved cheese.
Jeff woke up in the middle of the night to tell me this appetizer idea.
